440C Martensitic Stainless Steel (ASTM A276-2017)
440C is a high-carbon, high-chromium martensitic stainless steel with excellent hardness and wear resistance. After proper heat treatment, it can reach up to 60 HRC, making it one of the hardest stainless steels available. Its chemical composition (~1.0% C, 17% Cr) provides both high strength and good corrosion resistance, along with dimensional stability at elevated temperatures.
